CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Chris Nelson, Social Studies teacher at Johnson High School, has been named the Saint Paul City Conference Coach of the Year for Soccer for 2008!

Homecoming week 2008 the Peltier Family was inducted into the Hall of Fame. It was a wonderful celebration recognizing a very special family. Below is a great article from The Eastside Review written by another Johnson High School Hall of Fame inductee, Wally Wakefield.

The National Merit Scholarship Corporation has named Joe Benert a Commended Student in the 2009 National Merit Scholarship Program. Commended Students place among the top 5% of more than 1.5 million students nation wide that entered the 2009 competition. "The young people named Commended Students have demonstrated outstanding academic potential by their stron performance in this highly competitive program."

Over The Summer:
Four students from Johnson High School, Jayvin Miller-Murphy,
Pang Lor, Sompos Nhul and Arthur Nguyen worked raising money for the homeless people in St. Paul. All four students spent over 300 hours on this project and they did an excellent job. The final total will be around 20K. The proceeds will be going to stock the Catholic Charities food shelves here on the eastside of St. Paul. They were featured in a Pioneer Press article and a Channel 9 feature in July. We are very proud of these JHS Students!
