Courses needed for Academy Certification

The courses listed meet the requirements for students wishing to earn the Johnson High School Health Sciences Academy Certification.  See the course catalog (link below) for a complete description of each.

Students must earn a minimum GPA of 2.75 in 10 academy required or elective courses (on an unweighted 4.0 scale).

Required courses (6):

  • Foundations of Health Sciences
  • Frameworks
  • Biology or AP Biology
  • Individual and Community Health
  • Chemistry
  • Anatomy/Physiology

Elective courses (choose 3):

  • Psychology or AP Psychology
  • Child Development
  • Microbiology
